blogging
I love reading and writing blogs, and am open to offers to do either on a professional basis. Here are the details of my obsession...
Professional credits:
I've written for 12 blogs on a professional basis, including books blog Trashionista which I co-edited and contributed to for a year. I now write daily posts for fabulous US tech site Popgadget and contribute to The Guardian arts blog as often as they let me.
Here are some examples of my work...
The Guardian arts blog: In defence of chick lit
Oh yes I did. Oh yes, the Guardian readers haaaaated it.
Styledash: From DIY handbags to colour-change undies
Fun/quirky fashion news.
TV Scoop: The Apprentice: The Final Reckoning
Liveblogging The Apprentice final '07.
The first in a series of columns about feeling stylistically challenged.
Dollymix: To breed or not to breed?
(Don't ask me!)
I've also written about blogging for Woman's Weekly, The Telegraph, Essentials, literary magazine Mslexia and now-defunct online magazine Fetch. I was interviewed about how blogging has helped my journalism career for Press Gazette.
...and personally speaking:
I've been blogging at what do you do? for three years now. I cleared out my archives at the beginning of 2008, losing all of my most embarrasing and stupid posts in the process (something I now weirdly regret) but saving some of my favourites.
Here are a few of them:
Gory but true.
Surviving the 2007 Sheffield flood (but not without getting my feet really, really wet).
Getting my hate on for Diane Lane (a namesake!) - it had to be done.
